'Boxes ' was a series of dioramas derived from conversations I had with my Dad over the last 5 decades until his death in 2012. We talked tirelessly about Art and Philosophy, Human and Animal rights and wrongs, cruelty, chastity, charity, conflict, love. Our conversations were often heated and contradictory but never malicious. He was a man of great understanding and reason and whatever dark depths I sank to in my trying to trawl my way through life he always managed to tip the balance and set me once again on a more even keel. I like to think as the years rolled on and we became intellectually and morally more aligned our conversations became more about him and less about me, and then about so many other things. He loved life and always found beauty in the mundane and humour in the most unexpected of places.
